Online sales to surge 95% in April
Online sales to surge 95% in April.
It would appear that online shopping has not only surged during the Coronavirus Pandemic, but shoppers have turned to online retail outlets in droves. If current indications are accurate, the average person will continue to shop online when or if this horrific Pandemic comes to an end.
One company, the British clothing company Zara, which was forced to close due to the Pandemic, began to promote its products online like many other retail shops.
The move proved to be an enormous success, actually generating an increase of 95% in pre-pandemic sales, an accomplishment not unnoticed by its owner “Inditex” who now intend to make this a permanent feature in their marketing and selling strategy.
Looking at the above, it does seem that Zara, along with other online retailers, has committed to selling online and are expecting to reap the dividends, expecting online sales to account for at least a quarter of their income by 2022, up approximately 14% compared to sales in 2019.
We are informed that Zara was already working on its online retail strategy before any thought of lockdown surfaced, so we’re more prepared than other European retail chains, such as Primark and M & S, which have been left with a gigantic pile of unsold stock.
So if there is any good to come out of this horrifying Coronavirus Pandemic, it is that retailers have at last realized that if they are to succeed post-lockdown, then they have to implement sound and quality online retail strategies.
Yes, the digital age has arrived, and it is time to embrace that fact.
What is happening in European countries can also be mirrored back across the pond in North America. It has become apparent that the only companies that are still turning decent profits are the online companies that have embraced this new digital age and have implemented sound and creative retail infrastructures.
Companies are akin to Amazon, BargainBrute.Com, eBay, etc. BargainBrute, for example, realized quite some time ago the importance of quality products, bargain prices, and fast often free delivery directly to your front door.
A family-owned company based in Fort Collins, Colorado, has invested in its supply and administrative services massively over the past ten years.
Realized from the outset that they required not only good quality products but also a delivery system that would ensure immediate delivery, hence why they invested in the building of over 97 warehouses spread throughout the American continent to ensure prompt delivery.
Give them a visit. I am sure, like thousands of American online shoppers, you will be quick to understand just why they were voted America’s favorite place to shop online in 2020.
Bottom line, if there is a bargain to be found, they are sure to have it, perhaps the reason they are always at the top of any daily deals online shopping website.
The above news may be startling. It seems to fly in the face of adversity. However, it is happening and not only to well thought out companies as indicated above.
It would appear that all are now showing signs of adjusting to this multilevel form of online retail. While some of the above retailers indicate a 95% increase in sales, it would appear that others are also reaping the rewards.
On average most North American retailers are reporting a minimum of 40% increase in sales for the week beginning the 26th of May 2020 compared to pre-pandemic figures of the week starting the 24th of February. Excellent news, indeed.
These top-earning categories can be broken down into the following.
- Auto equipment and tires: up 79%
- Leisure is up an astounding 139% (perhaps because more are staying in their gardens)
- Electronics another clear winner and up 78%
- For those of us who wish to partake in cannabis or alcohol, and it would appear many do, sales have increased by 69%
- Again perhaps because most are staying at home during the Pandemic, décor and home goods up 46%
- Collectables once again, if you can’t go out, may as well spend it on the house up 48%
- General merchandise, including food items up 41%
Interestingly it has to be said that it would appear that the majority of this up spending online is comparatively by new online spenders who have not used online retail before this horrifying Pandemic.
Furthermore, most said that they would continue to use this way of purchasing their products when and if the Pandemic comes to an end.
Other trends are now flooding the online retail market are ordering online, then taking the option to go to the outlet to pick up the store item.
Once again, this practice has seen dramatic increases in online sales, so much so that it has earned its title, “click and collect,” a helpful idea geared to people who have more time on their hands.
However, if, like me, you prefer the simple, quick and easy system setup by major online retail companies, which allows me to click on an item, pay for it, and sit back and await delivery directly to my front door, then you should visit Bargainbrute.com.
