How to Create an Instagram Fanpage

Before setting up your “Instagram Fanpage,” let’s have a quick look at what Instagram is all about.

Created back in October of 2010 by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger as a video sharing and social networking service, Instagram is said to be now worth more than $100 billion and with the help of Facebook inc., who purchased the app back in 2012 for $1 billion, has now over 1 billion active users per month. As of May 2019, all have managed to upload over 40 billion photos to the ever-growing service.

However, looking at the negative side of the photo-sharing app, it should be said that the Instagram service has been accused of mass censorship and illegal posting of inappropriate material by some of its ever-growing membership platforms over the years.

As of February 2020, the most followed person is the legendary footballer Cristiano Ronaldo with more than 203 million followers. The most followed woman is the singer Ariana Grande with over 175 million followers, and the most shared picture is a picture of an egg posted by the Instagram account named “@world_record_egg,” which has a staggering 53 million likes, helping Instagram to be the most downloaded app of the decade.

So let’s create your Instagram Fanpage

1: First, determine what the focus of your “Instagram Fanpage” is, i.e., are you a public figure, a celebratory, or just plain old you.

2: Choose a general topic, i.e., history, animal, gardening, computer science, etc.

3: Is your Fanpage going to be a religious or perhaps a philosophical movement, etc.

4: Prepare your main profile picture (you will be asked for this during the Instagram “Fanpage setup,” make sure your profile picture matches your Fanpage Topic, i.e., if your Fanpage is about the moon, upload an image that describes the moon. If it is about your favorite apple pie, choose an image that resembles an apple pie.

5: Now you are ready to set up that all-important Instagram “Fanpage.” (important, if you are already signed in to Instagram, log out now before going any further)

6:  At the bottom of the main Instagram page, tap the Instagram app icon. It is usually a multicolored icon that resembles a camera. Once you have done this, you will be taken to the account creation section of the app.

7: You will then be asked for a telephone number that you want to be associated with your new Instagram account, or you can use an email address if you prefer by tapping the email tab.

8: Enter your name and preferred password. The name does not have to be your common name. Most people choose a name that will reflect their “Instagram Fanpage” focus.

9: Lastly, enter an exciting username that should stand out from the rest, be easy to remember and once again refer to the topic of your “Instagram Fanpage.”

That’s it, folks, you are all set up. Instagram will send you a confirmation email. Just confirm this, then go over to Instagram, sign in to your new Instagram Fanpage, and start sharing your ideas.

Like with any other social media platform, to get noticed, explore around, find other Fanpages that interest you and follow them, nine times out of ten, they will in return follow you back, thus giving you more juice to your “Instagram Fanpage.” Remember, the trick is to get views and likes from other users, and with over 1 billion active users per month, you will have plenty to choose from.
