Collectables and Fine Arts
Good day to you all, and welcome to another BargainBrute.Com short informational narrative. Today, as our title indicates, we will explore the world of “Fine Arts” and “Collectables.”
In one way or the other, many of us have collected different items and created collections throughout our lives. For one, I have collected coins, stamps, miniature bottles of wines, and spirits that I have picked up while out on my travels. Today, however, I find that traveling around has become a tad more complicated, forcing me to look elsewhere for outlets that sell or exchange items to add to my collections.
So, where can you go to discover items of “Fine Arts” and “collectibles”?
Luckily for us avid collectors, there are now, thanks to the worldwide web, a multitude of places where you can find even the most bizarre items to add to your collections. Below are a few of the online shopping sites that specialize in “Collectables and Fine Arts,” however, before we check them out, I thought we would look at some of the more bizarre items that people collect.
First up, Manfred S. Rothstein, a dermatologist who obviously had an itch of his own, has collected while out practicing his trade worldwide over 670 back scratchers.
Think that was strange, then think again. Just visit Birmingham in the United Kingdom and visit 65-year-old Carol Vaughn. He has managed to collect over 5,000 bars of scented soaps, and all purchased while traveling around the world since 1991. You never know, perhaps if our dermatologist friend knew her, then he would not need so many back scratchers.
Before we take a look at more of the strange things people collect, I should mention our hosts BargainBrute.Com, who were recently voted America’s favorite place to shop online in 2020, as they have what is perhaps one of the most impressive collections of “Collectables and Fine Arts” to be found on the worldwide Internet, and what’s more, all are for sale and ready to be delivered directly to your home from one of there 97 warehouses they have spread throughout the American mainland.
Yes, BargainBrute, one of America’s few remaining family-run online retail outlets, has a simple philosophy. They will only ship products to you that are of both the highest quality and best price to be found anywhere on the American mainland, and I include a vast collection of collectibles.
Now let’s get back to some of the more bizarre things people collect while traveling the world or shopping online.
Next up, the strange case of Elkhart County’s chicken collectors; As bizarre as it seems, two collectors going by the name of Joann and Cecil Dixon have turned their love of chickens into a remarkable off-the-board collection. They have managed to accumulate over 6,500 chicken items, including ornaments, fridge magnets, and even garden planters, all of which are in the proud display within their own roost.
Continuing with food collectibles, we have to give that fast-food chain McDonald’s a mention, or I should say a gentleman going by the name of Mike Fountaine who has in his home in Pennsylvania a colossal collection of over 75,000 items of McDonald’s memorabilia, a collection which occupies most of the area of his house.
Yes, it would appear you cannot walk anywhere within this house for fear of treading on a happy meal toy, a McDonald’s cup, or for that matter every trinket the fast-food giant has ever promoted, just what the other members of the family think of his collection is not known. Still, it is known that to protect his collection, he has overlooked his treasures that giant of a mascot we all know as Ronald McDonald smile and all included.
OK, people, it would be remiss if I did not, at this stage, if I did not include some of the more serious collectible organizations, I will not go into too much detail but will add them, so you know where you can find them.
As I mentioned at the offset, I have in the past collected both stamps and coins, however as time went by I have somewhat placed these collections on the back burner, so as a result lost touch with some of the suppliers I used to use for my collections, so it was with great surprise that I found out that “StampWorld” an organization I have used in the past was still in operation. I have to say that they have grown even larger than they were in my day; pop over and check them out there is no charge for membership, and once a member, you will have access to some of the most extensive stamp collecting news and products to be found anywhere on the Internet.
Delcampe, well, they deal in everything you can imagine, including postcards, stamps, coins, and old documents. My only criticism is that they seem to deal with too many collectible fields, a bit too many for my tastes, but they are worth visiting.
My last example is “Numista,” and I have to say they have an exciting marketing plan which allows their members to swap their coins or banknotes without charge, all they ask is for you to become a member, my advice definitely worth a visit.
Of course, if you want to find those items of collectibles and fine arts at extraordinary world-class bargain prices, then I would advise you to stick with our hosts BargainBrute.Com who have in their “Collectables and Fine Arts Section” everything you could require to make your collection one of, if not the best in the world.
On ending, remember there are no rules in collecting; it is a fantastic hobby. It is one of the few pastimes where you are the master, so do not be afraid, if you want to collect strange things as some of the people I have mentioned above have, then go ahead and have fun while you are doing it the only way the BargainBrute way, America’s favorite place to shop online.
