Strange names like “Zulily” “Alibaba“ both spring to mind, meaning the only other place I heard “Alibaba“ being used was when I was a young lad living in the United Kingdom just after the 2nd World War. Yes, it is a strange world.
But, our strange world gets even more bizarre. I mean, where else would you hear of a word like “Yoshop,” an eCommerce company which at this moment in time markets hundreds of products to most countries in the world. I do not know about you, but the first thing that comes to my mind when I see the word “Yoshop” is one of those lovely rocket-shaped ice lollies we use to buy from the ice cream wagon which, as if by magic, turned up at the gates of our school every single day at midday, who knows maybe it was magic, only time will tell.
What other strange and foreboding words can I think of. You never know a scout may read this short narrative one day and offer me a job. As I say, the world we live in today is a strange place, a place in recent times that seems to be getting even more bizarre. I mean, where did this horrid Coronavirus come from? The word itself is indeed strange, so maybe we should, after all, add it to our short story. Anyway, it’s there now, so I am not going to edit it out.
“Fab,” yes, I know what you are all thinking. What’s so strange with that word, nothing really, I just put it there to see who was paying attention. So let’s get straight on and try and find real strange buzz words.
The word “Buzz” first sprang into our world way back in the 15th century late and was taken from the sound of buzzing bees. Later young pilots flying their “Tiger Moths” over the trenches of Europe coined the phrase whenever they flew low or close to each other.
Others used the word when they wanted to tell someone to go away, buzz off they could be heard screaming while gallantly fighting in the air the battlefields of Europe. Then at the beginning of the 1990s, when party lines were all the rage, it was used to tell someone, quite forcefully, I might add, to go away. Yes, maybe the Buzz word is at this time at the top of our list.
I wonder what other strange and extraordinary words we can find, words even stranger than the ones we have already discovered. Let’s have a look.
“Flash Sales,” while not the mightiest of Buzz words it is, however, critical to anyone who wants to succeed in online retail. Let’s have a quick look at what this Buzz word does; Basically, it attempts to persuade people to buy online from an eCommerce retail unit on the spur of the moment and usually just for a short time as stock is often limited. You may also find that as the supply is restricted, you may get a better discount than at other times, beware though quality, depending on who you buy from, let us say a bit take it or leave it, so buyer beware.
What else can we find for you? “Wanelo,” now that’s more like a buzzword, and it also resembles one of my favorite online retail outlets BargainBrute.com.
