When I say exercise regularly, I do not mean the type of activity that gets your heart pumping so fast that it seems it may explode. Your workout should be of a gentle kind, just walking approximately 30 minutes each day can help immensely, and will also help to diminish the chances of developing Type 2 diabetes. Furthermore, gentle exercise will also help to lower your insulin sensitivity levels, thus minimizing several complications that can occur with a sufferer like, loss of limbs, poor blood circulation, etc.
I myself am a Type 2 diabetes sufferer, and nothing is scarier than looking down at your feet and watch as they begin to turn black. Nothing is worse than not being able to wear shorts in the summer because you are too ashamed to let people see the ulcers and scars on your lower legs.

As a sufferer of diabetes, I always carry around a good supply of candy and fruit juice just in case for some reason I become hypoglycemic. It is also a good idea that while exercising, you inform others that you have diabetes, you would be amazed if you knew that most people do not have any sense whatsoever, as what to do if someone collapses because of hypoglycemia, so do not be afraid to tell them, it may save your life.
Although it is extremely hard to know if your blood sugars are getting high or low especially after exercising, you should make a habit of paying close attention to any signals your body is throwing out to you. Feeling shaky, increased sweating, a rapid heartbeat, or a sudden feeling of hunger are all signs that your blood levels are getting low, so pay close attention, nine times out of ten, your body will attempt to warn you of impending difficulties.
So, what have we learned? That the number one thing a person who is suffering from diabetes must do is to exercise, both regularly and gently, remember not to overdo it, and you will be fine.
